How ratee tracks rates

Our rule: no rate appears on ratee without a source and a date. If we can't verify it, we don't publish it.

Where the numbers come from

Each weekly refresh cross-checks APYs against the issuing banks' and credit unions' own rate pages, plus major independent rate publishers (currently: WSJ Buyside, Bankrate, and Motley Fool rate tables). When sources disagree, we publish the figure from the most recently dated source and note the conflict.

Refresh cadence

Weekly table refreshImmediate re-check on Fed meeting days

Tables are re-verified every week. On Federal Reserve meeting days we re-check the following morning, since banks typically adjust yields within days of a Fed move.

What "up to" means

Some institutions advertise a top APY that only applies under conditions (balance caps, direct deposits, promotional windows). We always print the condition next to the rate — a rate without its catch is marketing, not information.

What we don't do

We don't rank by who pays us: ratee currently earns no commissions from any listed institution. We don't publish "teaser" rates that require products you didn't ask for. And we never present a single bank's marketing page as an independent comparison.

Current verification date across all tables: September 30, 2026.
